ABOUT US
ELITE SYNCOPATIONS is a band based in South-east England specialising in music from the Ragtime era - the golden age of Rags, Two-Steps, Cake-Walks, Marches, Waltzes and Tangos. This was the heyday of Ragtime when Scott Joplin reigned supreme with memorable tunes such as "The Maple Leaf Rag" and "The Entertainer". Our aim is to bring to life this often neglected musical genre - an evocative, lively, tuneful idiom that was the very birth of Jazz!
The full band comprises piano, bass, drums, 2 woodwind, 2 brass and 4 string players, so we are in fact a mini orchestra! As far as we know, we are the only band of its kind in the UK.
We play music that is suitable for background ambience or for people to sit and listen to - perfect for a garden party, a wedding drinks reception, a corporate event or to accompany afternoon tea or a special dinner.
The cost to hire the band depends on how many musicians are involved, determined by your budget or the number that can actually fit into the space available. The more players that are used, the more authentic the sound, but it can start with 2 or 3 musicians right up to the full 11-piece band. The other factor would be the length of time that we would be required for. We can play up to 3 sets of 30 mins each.
Please do get in touch to discuss your requirements. Elite Syncopations will help to make your event an extra special one.

"I am writing to you on behalf of the South Warnborough Village Fete Committee to thank you and the other member of Elite Syncopations for the wonderful music you played throughout the afternoon of our fete. Recently we had a meeting at which everyone was asked what they thought of the fete this year and to a man they all said that your ragtime music was the best feature. So we did want to underline our appreciation to you and the other members of the band and ask that you would pass on our grateful thanks to all concerned."
Biddy Guy (South Warnborough Fete Committee)
